  • Dra.Vanessa Tavares Kanaan

    She has a post-doctorate in Ecology from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2012), a PhD in Animal Sciences from Purdue University, USA (2008) and Psychologist and Biologist from Campbellsville University, USA (2002). Specialized in Ethology, Animal Welfare and Conservation, acting mainly on the following themes: rehabilitation, release and monitoring of wild animals; social behavior, conditioning and environmental enrichment. He is a member of the Advisory Group to the National Action Plan for the Conservation of the Macaw ( Cyanopsitta spixii ). Creator and responsible for the project to reintroduce the Vinaceous-breasted Amazon (Amazona vinacea) in the Araucárias National Park, SC, member of the IUCN Reintroduction Specialist Committee and technical director of the Instituto Espaço Silvestre.   • Andreise Costa Przydzimirski

    She is a Veterinary Physician graduated from the Federal University of Paraná, residing in clinic and surgery of wild animals at CETAS-PUCPR / IBAMA and at the Veterinary Hospital of UFPR. He also holds a Master's Degree in Veterinary Sciences with a focus on Zoological Medicine. Since graduation, he has dedicated himself to the field of wild animal medicine through internships and volunteering at CETAS, Zoos, Unconventional Pet Clinics and in free-living conservation projects. She is currently a PhD student in Veterinary Sciences at UFPR and a Veterinary Physician in charge at Instituto Espaço Silvestre.

  • Thaís Brisque

    She is a Biologist, graduated from the Federal University of São Carlos (2017) and a Technologist in Environmental Management, graduated from the Centro Universitário Padre Anchieta (2011). As a graduate student in Biological Sciences, she was a Scientific Initiation student, working in the area of ecology and conservation of birds. In addition, it carried out internships and volunteer work in the area of fauna conservation, also linked to environmental education. During training as a technologist she worked in the area of environmental education. He joined the Instituto Espaço Silvestre in 2017, to work on the project to reintroduce Vinaceous-breasted Amazon in the Araucárias National Park in Santa Catarina. In 2018 she became an ex-situ coordinator for the project and currently works in the coordination of fauna destination of the Wild Animal Screening Center of Florianópolis under the administration of Instituto Espaço Silvestre.

  • Janaína A. de Moraes

    She is a biologist, graduated from the University Nove de Julho - São Paulo and specialist in management and conservation of wild fauna by the University of Santo Amaro - São Paulo. She worked as a biologist in the Professional Improvement Program of the ZooPark Fundation of São Paulo for three years and was an animal management technician at the São Paulo Aquarium for four years. In 2019 she joined Instituto Espaço Silvestre as a biologist at CETAS in Florianópolis. She is a management coordinator and a member of the wild animal rehabilitation and release team.

  • Angélica Knorst

    She has a postgraduate degree in management and conservation of wild fauna by UNISA - SP and in medical and surgical clinic for exotic pets and wild animals by the Qualittas Institute. She is a veterinarian trained in FMU - São Paulo (2015) with improvement in clinic and surgery of wild animals by UNISA - SP. During graduation, he did internships and volunteered mainly with unconventional pets clinic and in fauna screening and rehabilitation centers. She worked as a veterinarian at CETAS Barueri and in 2019 joined Instituto Espaço Silvestre as a veterinarian at CETAS in Florianópolis. She is a clinical coordinator and member of the veterinary team.

  • Anna Carolina da C. Montichel

    She is a veterinarian graduated from the University of the State of Santa Catarina (UDESC / CAV) and a graduate student in Clinic and Surgery of Wild and Exotic Animals at Faculdade Método de São Paulo (FAMESP). Since graduation he has done internships and volunteers in the area of wildlife management, screening and rehabilitation of wild fauna, clinic and surgery for unconventional pets. She worked as a veterinarian for exotic animals in a private company for almost two years and in April 2020 joined the team of veterinarians at Instituto Espaço Silvestre at CETAS in Florianópolis.

  • Eduardo Tadashi Yoshida

    She is a veterinary doctor graduated from the Federal Rural University of the Amazon - Campus Belém (2020), with a sandwich period at James Cook University - Australia. During his undergraduate studies he received a scientific initiation scholarship, doing internships and volunteer work focused on the handling, conservation, clinic and surgery of wild animals. He performed with birds, land mammals and reptiles. In June 2020 he joined the Instituto Espaço Silvestre as a member of the veterinary team at CETAS in Florianópolis.

  • Dr. Marcus Vinicius Romero

    He holds a bachelor's degree and a degree in biology with an emphasis on marine biology from Universidade Santa Cecília, Santos - SP. He received a PIBIC / CNPq scholarship from the Fisheries Institute in Santos. He worked for more than 4 years in the administrative sector in private companies and in June 2019 he joined Instituto Espaço Silvestre as an administrative assistant at CETAS in Florianópolis.

  • Matheus Feldstein Haddad

    He is a biologist, graduated from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2017). During graduation, she focused on conservation work for different animal groups, especially with amphibians. He has experience in biogeography and in the projection of models of environmental protection areas. In addition, he has experience in fundraising and public environmental policies, contributing to the formulation of various environmental programs and legislation on the subject. Throughout his academic journey, he has always been related to the popularization of science, being co-author of the book "Sporum: dispersing knowledge" and several didactic materials and dissemination of biology. He is currently part of the technical team of Instituto Espaço Silvestre, working as an project assistant.

  • Bruna B. Rodrigues

    She holds a bachelor's degree and a degree in biology with an emphasis on marine biology from Universidade Santa Cecília, Santos - SP. He received a PIBIC / CNPq scholarship from the Fisheries Institute in Santos.   • Mayara de Souza Ribeiro

    She is a Biologist, graduated from Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP / Assis) and post-graduated in Conservation and Management of Fauna, from Universidade Santo Amaro (UNISA). She worked as a volunteer at the Sorocaba Zoo, both in the area of Environmental Education and in the area of Management and also at the Center for Wildlife Conservation (CECFAU), of the Fundação Parque Zoológico de São Paulo.
    In graduate school, he developed an environmental enrichment work aimed at the rehabilitation of an individual of the southern tiger cat (Leopardus guttulus). He has experience in conservation, animal treatment and environmental enrichment techniques.

  • Marcella Caovila

    She is a Biologist, graduated from the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar), Sorocaba campus (2017). During graduation, she was a Scientific Initiation student with PIBIC / CNPq scholarship. Throughout his training, he did internships and volunteering at several institutions, such as a zoo, aquarium, rescue and rehabilitation centers for marine and terrestrial fauna and fauna conservation centers, gaining experience in the areas of animal conservation, management and monitoring of fauna, Marine Biology and Environmental Education. In addition, he worked as a field assistant in environmental consulting, having experience with monitoring of mastofauna, especially small mammals and bats. In July 2019, he joined the Instituto Espaço Silvestre, where he is currently part of the keepers team at CETAS in Florianópolis.

  • Marcelo Pereira Silveira

    He is an environmental technician, graduated in 2015 from Escola Técnica Cristo Redentor (RJ) and currently a student of Environmental Management from Universidade Estácio de Sá (SC). He has worked as an animal keeper since 2016, most of the time with neo-tropical primates.

  • Marisa Ortenblad

    She has a degree in Biological Sciences, a bachelor's degree and a licentiate degree, from Universidade Presbiteriana Mackenzie in São Paulo (2019). During his graduation, he did internships and volunteer work at different national institutions and in South Africa, gaining experiences in the areas of handling, rehabilitation and conservation of wild animals. He is currently part of the care staff of Instituto Espaço Silvestre at CETAS in Florianópolis.

  • Alessandra Lima da Rocha

    She holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS) and a graduate student in Zoology from the Unyleya College (EAD). During his undergraduate studies, he did an internship at the Zoo of the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), working in the areas of wild animal management and environmental education, through monitoring for schools in the region. He has experience with environmental consultancy, monitoring and surveying wild fauna, and rescuing animals in toll plazas.

  • Thais Regina Zanella

    Biologist from the Federal University of São Carlos - Sorocaba campus (2018), with an emphasis on Environmental Conservation. During graduation, he did an internship and undertook scientific initiation in the area of Theoretical Ecology and was vice president of Ambiens Jr. Consultoria e Soluções Ambientais - Junior Biology Company at UFSCar Sorocaba. He also did internships and volunteer work in the area of conservation, environmental education, management and rehabilitation of terrestrial and marine animals.

  • Matheus Soares do Canto

    Animal lover Matheus is 19 years old and joined the team in September 2019.

  • Maria Luiza Rosa

    Undergraduate student in the Biological Sciences Degree course at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC). In 2020, he joined Instituto Espaço Silvestre's team as an intern, this being his first professional experience working with rehabilitation and handling of wild animals, an area that has always enchanted him a lot.

  • Ligia Jahn 

    Businesswoman and fauna maintainer. She worked in the photographic market for 18 years, she was an administrative director in a company that imports machinery and supplies for developing photographs and commercial director of a chain of photographic retail stores. In 1998 he founded Editora Photos, with the publication of two bimonthly periodicals and several photographic books. Currently manages Politrade Ltda, a company that invests in the real estate market for rental purposes.   • Paula Schommer

    She holds a PhD in Business Administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas - SP. Master in Administration from the Federal University of Bahia and graduated in Business Administration from the University of Caxias do Sul. She is currently a professor of Public Administration at the State University of Santa Catarina (UDESC / ESAG), and a collaborating professor at the Federal University of Bahia (UFBA ), at the Interdisciplinary Center for Social Development and Management (CIAGS). He works voluntarily with several civil society organizations and social projects. Member of the National Network of Researchers in Social Management and the International Society for Third-Sector Research. Among his themes of interest in research are: coproduction of the public good, accountability, governance, public management, social management, socio-territorial development and private social investment.

  • Eloiza Poletto

    Bachelor of Laws from Universities Unipar and Univali since 2006, technician in real estate transactions since 1997 and accredited by Creci since 2008 at number 13445. Currently works at two real estate companies: Politrade Ltda manages and administers commercial rentals and at Desc Imobiliária sells real estate high standard. It also acts as an investor in the same industry. Between 2002 and 2007, he managed the financial, administrative and human resources areas of a holding company with 7 photographic companies.

    Mário Augusto São Thiago

  • Biologist graduated from the Regional University of Blumenau, where he was part of the Ecology and Ornithology Laboratory team and participated in studies with birds from the Atlantic Forest, Araucaria Forest and Natural Fields since 2003. He worked with environmental consultancy, focusing on surveys and diagnosis of birdlife for Conservation Unit Management Plans. In addition, he was one of the coordinators of the elaboration of the first list of threatened birds in Santa Catarina published in 2011 and he is one of the collaborators in the elaboration of Action Plans for species threatened with extinction in southern fields and threatened parrots in the Atlantic Forest. In 2009 he started working with foreign and Brazilian bird watchers, conducting expeditions in Brazil, Peru and Argentina.

    Adrian Eisen Rupp

  • Biologist, born in Florianópolis, having graduated in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003), with a master's degree in Ecology and Conservation from the Federal University of Paraná (2006), doctorate in Zoology from the University of São Paulo (2011) and with post -doctorates from the USP Museum of Zoology (2014) and another from the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University, Philadelphia, USA (2016). Since 2012, he has been director-general of the Brazilian Committee for Ornithological Records, of which he has been a member since 2003. He was also secretary of the Brazilian Society of Ornithology (2005-2007) and served on the editorial board and as a reviewer of several scientific pediatricians. He is also currently an associate researcher at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University.

    Rafael Mariano Araujo Bezerra
